Berkshire Hathaway $BRK.B published its annual report last Saturday along with Warren Buffett's annual letter to shareholders.
In 2022, Berkshire Hathaway managed to beat the S&P 500 $SPX500 and over the past 58 years, their annual returns is about 19.8% vs 9.9% for the S&P 500.
One interesting point that Warren Buffett mentioned was that he only had about a dozen of great investments over all this time, and without these investments, his returns would have been average. These investments come on average every five years. This is something I can definitely agree on. In my 7 years of investing, I had 3 great investments, $FCX , $GME , and $AAPL . And I also had some bad investments. What matters is that your big wins outperform the losses over the long-term.
