Let's start with Apple (AAPL), Berkshire Hathaway sold about 3 million Apple shares, in other words, Berkshire Hathaway trimmed its Apple position by about 1%.
Actually it is not Warren Buffett who sold these Apple shares. You should first understand that Warren Buffett is not the only person managing funds in Berkshire Hathaway. Charlie Munger as well as Todd Combs and Ted Weschler equally manages assets of Berkshire Hathaway independently of Warren Buffett. Also, Greg Abel and Ajit Jain have an important role to play in the company. These Apple shares which were sold were sold by one of the other managers and not Warren Buffett. However, it is surprising why Warren Buffett did not buy more shares of Apple. We will know more in the annual shareholder letter.
